CHARACTER FACTS
» Name: Starscream
» Canon: Transformers: Prime
» Reference: http://transformersprime.wikia.com/wiki/Starscream
» Canon Point: Post Predacons Rising
» Gender: Male and male-presenting, as a human. Cybertronians and the concept of sex is a bit weird because most of them present as male and use "he" pronouns, with some female and female presenting Cybertronians existing but not as a key to propagation; it seems the concept of gender, which is mental and social, exists, but sex, which is physical, does not.
» Age: He appears to be in his thirties as a human, but Starscream and many other Decepticons are potentially many thousands of years old, perhaps even older.
CHARACTER INTERPRETATION
» Appearance: Starscream's human appearance is one of a lanky man standing about 5'9", with a swimmers' body, short, dark hair, and brown eyes.
» Suitability: Before fighting began to break out on Cybertron, calling most of its inhabitants into service, Starscream was originally a scientist before taking up in the war on his home planet, and I believe that while sex is something likely completely foreign to him (other than a theoretical understanding that many species practice sexual reproduction), he would come to accept this part of his existence here as further research, allowing him to fully analyze and understand the process. The use of the collars to spur citizens into practicing sex acts for survival may strike him as a control, as in for an experiment, rather than the exacted whim of a deity. He would therefore suspect that Atia is studying human sexuality as well.
» Orientation: Canonically Cybertronians are asexual. They don't reproduce by way of sexual intercourse, primarily making others of their kind through Forging, Cold Construction, or (in the case only of primitive Cybertronians) Budding. Starscream's orientation as a human will develop through experience ingame. Source: http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Reproduction
» Personality: Starscream is a Decepticon of intellect and cunning above all other things. Once a proud military commander during the earliest conflicts on Cybertron, he was before then a scientist, skills that would benefit him later when placed in charge of a Dark Energon production and research facility. Drawn to Megatron's banner in the earlier part of his mounting campaign against the Autobots, his designs returned once again to warfare and the desire for greater personal power, reminded bitterly of his demotion under the current status quo. He privately reviles Megatron's views as a leader and tactician, which to him are antiquated and blunt, characteristic of Megatron's background as a gladiator but outdated as the war with the Autobots has gone from a battle for supremacy over their own planet and its energon sources to one of survival across alien landscapes. Though he values his rank for the dominance it gives him over others, especially those larger and physically stronger than he is, his greater goal for many parts of the series is to secure and maintain full control of the Decepticon forces, with either Megatron's absence or his absolute death.

What he lacks in physical might, he makes up for in speed and resourcefulness. In combat, his tactics tend to involve holding his better cards until he sees a weakness and striking when circumstances promise him an easy victory. He never kicks Megatron unless he's down and unable to retaliate. In one on one confrontations, he seeks weaknesses both physical and psychological, finding ways to get into his opponents heads to make them less effective in battle. We see this on numerous occasions; for instance, he escaped Autobot custody by goading Arcee into attacking him, causing her to relent when he led her to believe he was too pathetic to attack her, only to gravely wound her and escape once she got close enough to strike without endangering himself. This very much summarizes how he tends to deal with most conflicts, even as a rogue agent forging alliances of convenience and when threatened, using his apparent weakness to draw enemies in before attacking them. He will offer some advantage when dealing with enemies, usually to do with his expansive knowledge (and as Megatron's second in command he has a wealth of information that can be used), often to obtain what he needs to survive. Twice he offered classified information to the Autobots in exchange for medical attention, for instance, and he provided the human terrorist group, MECH, with information on Cybertronian anatomy for assistance in mining Energon, as he had no steady supply to sustain himself. In a setting like the island, he will have to use similar, but adapted, tactics to stay afloat and get by day to day. He will have to learn to function as a human being and also learn to protect himself from the myriad of threats to his existence, new and old.

Starscream thinks highly of himself and views very few Decepticons as smart as he is. The only Cons he doesn't seem to have confrontational relationships with are those that are openly willing to support him, such as Knock Out, their medic, who hopes to become second in command once he takes over. With this and his rank, he tends to ask by way of command and rub everyone around him the wrong way. He often overestimates his clout with other Decepticons and frequently has trouble asserting his dominance over them, especially if they're from outside of the main Nemesis crew, like Skyquake, who refused to accept his leadership while Megatron was in a coma. On Atia, this won't fly very far, and he will have to learn to mix with people without his usual advantages in a social sense. No one's going to care that he's extinguished an Autobot. No one there is going to understand the complex history of his home planet or think much of his place in it. It will be one of the first times in a long time that he has to start with nothing and work from there.

Despite his intelligence and cunning, above most other traits, Starscream is a coward. When caught in his dirty dealings, he will laugh and make weak excuses. When threatened and caught he will grovel and beg. When faced with true hand to hand combat, he will cut and run, thinking first of himself and nothing else -- though he might take on a little additional risk if he is too cocky to properly gauge the danger (or if he thinks the right move might mortally endanger his rival). Coupled with his ego this means Starscream probably spends more time groveling and hiding from danger than doing much of anything else. While his pride may stop him from walking away from a conflict on Atia where he's been insulted, he'll be quick to run for cover and try to forge alliances with bigger, stronger people until he can secure a better advantage.

Starscream's ambition, grouped with his cowardice and his pride, means that he has left himself vulnerable to Megatron's retaliation whenever he's turned on him. In fact, on at least one occasion, he failed to get away scot free, with a chance to leave Megatron totally for dead, because he wouldn't allow other Decepticons to aid their master and get the praise that should be his. This is shown in an an episode where Megatron took him on what Starscream and other Cons call his "field trips," to call agents on their treachery and personally exterminate them. A cave-in left Megatron and others stranded, with Starscream making it out safely, only to go back and attempt to rescue Megatron and prove his loyalty to be without question. On one hand, he cannot let someone else have the recognition he feels should be his, and on the other -- he knows Megatron has nine lives and would get him later. A human ally of the Autobots, Agent Fowler, accurately described Starscream's relationship with Megatron, in that it is uncertain what he wants more: his job, or his approval. He might struggle to honestly answer that question, himself.

The way he relates to other on and off comrades can be fairly complex. People who seem to be more blatantly gunning for his position, like Airachnid, or are just given equal standing without even seeming to try, like Shockwave, he openly despises and attempts to sabotage at every turn, even if they're taking on tasks he doesn't want in the first place. How this would translate in other places is that if he perceives someone as trying to undo whatever success he has, or get in his way, he'll hate them, even if their presence as an inconvenience in his life is mere happenstance. Others that don't pose so much of a threat, such as the ship's medic, Knock Down, he's less confrontational with (though they may pick at each other at times), and when the chips are down they even appear to have an abiding respect for one another, despite their differences. In fact, when faced with imminent death, they both confess admiration for the other, Starscream himself stating it was an honor to serve with him. In the episode in question, before things go wrong, they even seem to enjoy working together. This shows that Starscream is capable of forming semi-positive relationships with people. Rather than let other people know this, however, he would rather throw a friend under the bus or hurl insults at them than let people see he likes someone.

On the island, Starscream will be forced to adapt quickly to a number of changes, the most intense of which will be the physical. Like many Cybertronians in the face of human life, he's viewed Earth's native species to be largely fragile, overcomplicated, and increasingly more consequential as groups like MECH have learned to adapt technology to stand against Cybertronian forces. To have a view of them from the "driver's seat," as it were, is a unique opportunity but not one that will be without its challenges and, honestly, its frights. Even the slightest bodily function that we take for granted is going to be completely new to him, but it wouldn't surprise anyone to see him grow slowly addicted to the euphoria that successful intercourse brings, the pleasure in consuming human fuel (with its variety and the intricate ways it is prepared), and other experiences that may be comparable to certain other Cybertronian experiences or completely alien.

» First Person Sample Choice: (Prompt 2 - This is presuming that this post is locked to people he has chosen to trust with this information.)

[Starscream woke up frustrated, not sated. Clearly. Dark circles hang under his eyes and he stares at the camera flatly.]

Why is human fuel so ineffective?

[He imagines his assumed audience looking quizzical and moves to clarify.]

Regardless of when it is consumed, this body becomes weak and powers down after every 18 waking hours or so. This is unacceptable, and it's not a wonder that the lot of you are only a few million years from crawling out of the primeival ooze.

[There's a point there, viewers. Are you listening? He holds up a finger.]

Which is vile, by the way. By your very origins you are a disgusting species, and you should be ashamed.

[He frowns, eyes darting down and away as he relents...slightly.]

That food and other acts are often enjoyable to deal with is not an apology for this fact of existence for you. No one with a mind of their own would voluntarily take part in any of these things, the way human bodies do them, if your brains were not programmed to perceive these functions as pleasurable.

And they are. But they are also still disgusting.

» Third Person Sample Choice: (Prompt 2)

The restraints unlatched, and at last his legs could come down into a more natural position. Hands rubbed at sore, strained muscles, warm and soothing, earning a soft coo from him. He was wet, sated, exhausted despite the soft, half-conscious murmurs of "No, more," even as his collar became lax and his partner settled him carefully and comfortably.

Much as Starscream seemed content to revile how imperfect and needlessly repulsive humans and human bodies were, that was the mind of a Con speaking through human lips that could not ignore the heady pleasure of a human kiss, the mingling of tastes and smells and hot, moist breaths. While his thoughts and memories were of one with metal limbs, who registered pain but rarely euphoria -- and never as a social interaction, this body demanded more of both, all the time, and while initially he quietly worried about losing himself to such things, by now he'd all but given in to those wants.

The feeling of being short of breath was at first a terrifying experience, not an issue that he could know in his true form, but now as the rise and fall of his chest drew more air into him, there was a smile on his face, half mindless, but his pleas stopped at last, the stillness of the moment at last convincing him that he could not take more even if his partner had offered to give.

Someone had warned him of overtaxing himself. They weren't there right now, and what did they know?

He was keeping himself sane. He was surviving.
